Gator News 6/4/18

Hello Gator Families,

We have our first win of the season! Congratulations to all the Gators for a victory over Greenmeadow last Saturday. The final score was Eichler 302, Greenmeadow 172. Please keep reading to see who earned PB3s; get information about this week's Teen Dinner, Kids' Movie Night and Pasta Feed; find out important info for this Saturday's meet... and more!

Hearty congratulations to the 23 Gators who swam Personal Best times in three events during the Greenmeadow meet. (A few guidelines for PB3s: the swimmer must have swum the event this season--in this case, the practice meet; also, IMs are not included in PB3s.)

Parent job sign-ups for the Brookside meet are open and will close at 10:00 pm on Tuesday night (June 5), the same deadline for swimmer sign-ups. Please remember to sign up your swimmers for the meet by 10 pm Tuesday night--your kids will NOT swim if you do not sign them up. It only takes a few seconds to mark whether your swimmer is attending or not--please do so as soon as you know your plans. If, after the Swimtopia deadline Tuesday night, your swimmer cannot attend the meet for some reason or will need to leave early or come late because of another obligation, please send an e-mail to or notify the coaches in person.

The warm-up schedule for the Brookside meet is as follows:

* 8:20 am Pre-Comp, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11 year old practice groups

* 8:30 am High School group (7:00-8:00 practice)

* 8:35 am 11-18 year olds (6:00-7:00 practice)

The meet begins at 9:00 am. Make sure that your swimmer applies sunscreen and reapplies as needed during the meet. You may want to bring more than 1 towel, collapsible chairs, warm clothing for your swimmer and activities for younger swimmers to keep them entertained between their races.

At the end of the meet, please clean up your area and move any chairs you’ve moved.

All swimmers are expected to be at meet warm-up and should check to see if they're in a relay before leaving the meet. We've had several cases of kids "cutting corners" and missing warm-up and relays, which makes the meet a bit more stressful for everyone!
